5/2 Scanography Ebook: Colored Pencils

I wanted to make a colorful ebook with movement so I looked around for objects that contained a multitude of colors. My prismacolor colored pencil set seemed like the best option. I had a lot of them and they could be moved around individually/separate from each other to create enticing patterns. My ebook is less of a story and more of a series of visual compositional interactions, three to be exact. In order to get my scanner to work, I needed to plug in a flash-drive and have the scans go onto it. This meant I couldn't look at any of my scans until all of them were finished. The end product was a complete surprise. I made seven in a row. I wiggled the pencils while the scanner moved across the bed, left to right, right to left, and up and down. I tried to spread them out and put them in angled positions to obtain some variety.

  1. Hi Danielle, this is such an impressive photography. I enjoy reading your e-book. I can see there is not only a movement for the color pencils but also a storytelling scenes from those color pencils. For the further step, I will suggest playing with the background color. You could try to close the board and have a black background, in which it will have a strong contract and will be more impressive.
